Composed in April 2023. 'Nocturne for Orchestra' was later performed at Southampton O2 Guildhall to a 600-person audience by Southampton Youth Orchestra.

Josh was commissioned to write this piece by the Southampton Youth Orchestra, it was premiered in February 2024.

It was an exercise in writing film music, composing leitmotifs for characters to tell the story of R.L.Stevenson's 'Jekyll and Hyde'.

I originally composed this piece for homework, told to 'write in the style of John Williams'. Though some melodies bear resemblance to his works, I felt it would be good to include this here as it shows my ability to orchestrate colourfully and effectively.

Psalm 84 | Double Choir

Josh was fortunate enough to gain a place on the ORA Young Composers Scheme 2024, who premiered this piece at the prestigious Three Choirs Festival in Worcester Cathedral.

This is a short piano piece composed over Christmas 2024. It was inspired by the idea of a beautiful view being warped and twisted when seen reflected in a Mere (a Lake) with a surface pepped with rain.

This is a short piece for a string quartet that I am composer in residence for at the Royal College of Music. It is being premiered in March. 

As a christian, the bible is incredibly important to me so I decided to put psalm 46 (NIV) to music. It was origionally for solo alto but in the recording you hear a friend of mine playing violin.
